C-Brat Holiday Traditions?

Just in case you can't tell from the site decorations of late, I can't help but get in the Christmas mood in a serious way every year. You see, Dana Gee's alter ego is that of Mrs. Claus. The house comes alive, decorations abound, and things just get generally jolly around here this time of year.

However, with all her work, I'm never quite there until the tree topper makes it's appearance. And, if there was ever any doubt as to how strange your main nerd around here is, this should should remove it:

Da Duck. Made by Dana when she was in third grade. One of those projects that started off with an unsure ending; as she recalls, she was trying to make a dog. When it was done, it ended up being a duck.

I've been quacking around the house all morning - 'tis finally the season around this unusual household.

So let's hear it - out with your C-Brat family traditions. What makes this time of year special for you?

Dana, what the heck is that thing? Da Dog and Da Duck it's not. I'm thinking it looks like Da Platypus but I do think it's kinda cute.

I'm afraid I can't top that but I'll keep looking.

Dana & Bill,

Great looking dog! Even better, I like the history of it. Brings a certain romance to the Christmas scene that endures beyond the obvious.

I too like Dana's Da Platypus! It's like a C-Dory.....CUTE!

This almost sounds like a topic for a new voting poll. Wonder what kind of critter Brock would call it?

Bill- How about putting the picture of Anna Leigh, with the Christmas decorations, on the home page. You can find it in the Dec 2003 album.
I love Da Duck!

The indecorous Christmas fixture is the penguin in Bloom County. The creature is wildly excited that his box of smelt has just arrived. Beak pointed north, toes outstretched, arms open to the inevitability of fishy bliss.
Indeed, rotated he serves as a splendid example of tree appreciation.
