C-Brat help is requested.
Yesterday, I attended an event (in Cedar Falls, Iowa) where 186 care packages were assembled for deployed soldiers in combat zones.
These (care packages) boxes of goodies, personal hygiene and good will items are then transferred to Iowa Care Package, Inc. for final assembly and shipment to deployed soldiers in combat zones around the world (see www.iowacarepackage.com).
Since Iowa Care Package, Inc. is a continuing and ongoing effort there is a constant balancing of resources which is not the subject here.
Here is the problem and where the C-Brats can greatly help this deployed soldier support effort.
Today, with privacy laws, it is very difficult to receive a deployed soldiers address, unless coming direct from the soldier, family, friends, at the same time, some churches have them posted on bulletin boards etc.
More Iowa Care Packages are being assembled next week at another “packaging event” with a large public event scheduled in June with the Iowa Cubs Baseball team.
We need more deployed soldiers addresses to match this surge.
We do receive deployed soldiers addresses sent to www.iowacarepackage.com web site, letters from family and at the same time, we have sent Iowa Care Packages to every soldier in a unit of 460 soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, who by the way, we are delighted to hear are coming home in July.
FYI; Iowa Care Package's are packaged in a large flat rate USPS box (6” X 12” X 12”) at an average cost of $60.00 per box (contents and postage).
Please direct deployed soldiers addresses to;
www.iowacarepackage.com
Best regards,
Ron Fisher
PS: Don’t let the name fool you, Iowa Care Package, Inc. sends care packages to any deployed soldier/s from any state.
