How about both?

Peter,

I like that a lot. I'd buy one.

I'm still curious, though, what the reverse side will look like.

Time to chime in here as I've been sitting back reading all the post. I really like this one as It shows I'm a Brat and I'm proud of my C-Dory. I'm in for sure.

I like that design most but the text only was alright too. Not sure what I would put it on at the moment though...count us in anyway.

Thanks all who've taken the time to comment.

I've thought about the reverse side too. I put in a question to a burgee company I'm considering. Hopefully he'll respond expediently. I guess if you think about it, the opposite side would have the wide side on the right side, meaning the letters would go backward?

Does anyone on this site have a burgee with letters and how do they treat the reverse side? (Sorry, I've never been a member of a yacht club) :wink

Peter

On mine the letters are on one side and on the other side you see the back side of the letters. ( I hope that makes sense ) LOL

I like it, but perhaps, since the C-Dog silhouette was facing in, the new one should be facing out, symbolically representing that although the boats and many of the owners are the same, C-Brats has a different direction.

I don't want to complicate this decision unnecessarily, but think you folks trying to pick out a design should be aware of the following:

The burgee will be seen from both sides. Some designs lend themselves to a "backside" presentation better than others, the mirror image being perfectly natural. Ones with letters are harder to interpret backwards.

Keep in mind the burgee will often be seen from great distances, and simple designs will be identifiable from further away.

The better way to build a burgee is to sew it up from panels of colored cloth. The panels can be sewn together or overlaid and sewn. It also can be embroidered on, but the backside doesn't look as good, of course.

More elaborate designs, with several colors or intricate details, may have to be silk-screen printed, at least partially. I don't believe the inks hold up to wear as well as solid panels, overlays, or embroidery.

Unfortunately, these considerations complicate design and selection.

Ultimately, the chosen design or designs need an evaluation from a manufacturer to estimate the difficulty and cost of manufacture.

Joe hit the nail on the head, IMO. Simple and reversible.

This isn't as simple as I'd like, it's more of a concept - I'm about as far from an artist/designer as you'll find. Still - it incorporates elements of our site logo, including letters in the same font that are reversible. I've not the requisite skills to modify the C-Dory to a simpler silhouette, but if there's interest in something like this I can provide Adobe Illustrator source files to somebody competent.

this is my favorite so far. I like the colors and creativity.

I really do like the "caricature" c-dory on this latest idea best. Not sure about the double "CB" but I get the concept(need to explore possibilities more??). I would like and use a C-Brats burgee and/or how about a decal?

My two cents for what it's worth. It would be great to fly a CB Burgee and I like the last one with the caricature. Just add a bit of colour and good to go

Da Nag's double C-b doesn't seem quite right. I would suggest it be changed to just one C-b which is easy for the mind to "see" correctly when seen on the reverse side.

Fun thread. How about some C-Brat underwear and C-Brat pajamas? I'm getting a tattoo :beer I can't make up my mind where to put it. No input required.

Here's a radical idea: list the designs already shown, have a poll, pick the winner and go ahead. We will never satisfy everybody on every detail.

I second the motion!....
