An update...

The burgee manufacturer has encountered some problems with his equipment and with patch delivery from the embroiderer. However, prior to encountering these two problems - he finished 85 of them.

Rather than hold up the entire order while he gets things sorted (hopefully within the next week), the 85 completed burgees are due to arrive to me tomorrow (Monday, 3/3.) That's about 75% of the pre-orders.

I'm hoping to get them out this coming week. As to who will be the lucky ones who receive them first...if you ordered on 12/8 or earlier (check your PayPal email receipt), you'll get your burgee(s) out of the first batch - with one exception. Canadians. No, I'm not picking on my favorite friends to the north...I've just not determined exactly how to deal with added shipping costs for you, so I want to do all of yours at the same time.

For the Canucks and those of you who ordered 12/9 or later - hopefully, I'll have yours out within another 1-2 weeks, assuming I receive them during that timeframe.

And lastly - the above only applies to those of you who pre-ordered and pre-paid. For the many folks who have indicated they want one and have yet to order/pay - I'll figure that out and provide ordering/payment instructions once all the pre-paid orders have been sent.

Thanks for the update, Bill. For once I am sad to be a Canuck!
:(

Apologies, Mike. I'll give your burgee a special C-Brat hug prior to mailing as thanks for your patience.

I'd kiss it, but that's probably a little creepy.

I swear this isn't "beat up on Canadians day"...but upon looking into shipping options, I thought it wise to let you folks to the north know about the added shipping cost I mentioned early on.

To recap: Everyone paid $6 shipping, and for US folks that covers it. For Canada - the cheapest trackable option I can find is also USPS Priority, and it's a flat rate of $19.50 regardless of location. That leaves an additional $13.50 shipping for those of you north of the border. As with US buyers, it's a flat rate regardless of how many burgees you paid for.

While I'm guessing y'all are used to such shipping rates from down here, it certainly took me by surprise. So, two things: First, if anyone knows a better way to ship, please let me know. Burgees will fit in a 15" x 9 1/2" USPS Priority Mail envelope. Second: If this has pushed the cost too high for those of you in Canada, drop me a PM and I'll issue you a prompt refund.

Bill
You are right about us Canadians being used to the high shipping rate.
How do you want us to get the extra charge to you?
Your plan is coming together. Thanks.
Ed

Looks like I might have other delivery options for you Canadians.

First, if I'm reading things correctly at USPS, it appears I might be able to send the burgees USPS International First Class for a flat rate of $7.70. That's the good news. The bad news: It doesn't take much searching to find many cases of shipments taking an extremely long time to be delivered using this method. 3+ weeks seems to be the norm, often longer. USPS Priority is definitely better in that regard, but you obviously pay for it. So, as long as a buyer is willing to accept all that goes along with this cheaper shipping method - I'm fine sending it that way.

Second - I can easily get burgees to any upcoming C-Brat gathering in the US. So, if any of you Canadians are planning on attending one, i.e. Friday Harbor - that's an option as well.

Hi Bill. We're used to customs and shipping charges. I'm good with priority if it makes it easier to manage. I appreciate all your efforts. Thanks. George

Bill can also get some to Friday Harbor if several of us are going. I think h may have found another USPS mailing option though.

Hi Bill,

I am planning on attending the FH gathering. You can hang on to my burgee until then if it makes it any easier for you.

Cheers,
Martin.

Boo Boo helped.
