C-25 2007 aft Rail Replacement

I would think you need to remove the gunnel storage insert. Un screw the screws and carefully remove the inset which will most likely have a bead of 4200 around it or something similar.

Is it loose? Is that the reason to get to it?

Had a bump from another boater and it bent the rail and the stantion

The forward two can be reached. The rear one...nope. You will probably have to cut an access port in the the area to get to it. I'd cut a round one in the splash well wall below the mount then put an access hatch in when complete.

I have a tweek in Journey On's aft stbd rail. I was thinking of using a jack and a couple of boards to straighten it out. Then I left it alone to remind me of an attack of stupidity. Cleated the dock line off in a lock so I could take pictures. Tightened up when the water went down. Had to get a knife to cut the line. Don't want to ever forget that.

I was in the locks in Seattle when a new owner of a nice older wooden cruiser cleated of a line in the locks and ripped of a the cleat and piece of teak railing that about 6" wide and 3' long. I don't know how much that repair bill was but I'm sure it wasn't cheap! Also, it can be quite dangerous when that happens as the cleat on a stretched out line can snap out pretty hard. I believe people have been killed by that in the past in the Ballard locks in Seattle.
