I have a C-22 and when I have the camper back enclouser all set up I get a fuel vapor smell . I have searched and searched for the source but no luck . Just checking to see if others have had this problem W/ the C-22 crusier.
Any help on the subject will be appreciated.

Checking for leaks is wise! You can have the system pressure tested for leaks in the same manor a plumber will check a house system (except at lower pressures in a gas system). Most of the time, it is just the “odor” that permeates through the tank.

All plastic tanks have odor permeation. It is a nuisance odor that is present all of the time especially when the vessel is enclosed (camper back, etc.). You can look on the Moeller Tank web page and find the data sheet the states that all plastic tanks have permeation of odor.

“Odor” vs. “Fumes” is sometimes dependent on the sensitivity of each person’s ability to smell. The majority of the time it will be just nuisance odors! But check it out to confirm.

Take a look at where your fuel tank vents are. If they are under the camper back, figure out a way to get them on the outside or trim the camper back so they are not under there.

I had the same problem on my '94 with aluminum tanks. The odor disappeared after I changed all of the fuel lines. It turned out that although the old lines looked good (and were in no way cracked or worn) gas had permeated into the rubber and gave off the smell. Even when I have my camper back up it is odor-free.
