Build your own dinghy

I built a couple kayaks from kits obtained at http://www.pygmyboats.com/. These were built using the same stitch and glue method as matt-unique's dinghies.
For a peek at the more elegant side of stitch and glue boats go to http://www.devlinboat.com/sockeye4.jpg.
For those not familiar with this construction method it is relatively simple to do*. cost effective, very strong and lightweight. There are quite a few sources for plans and kits.

I liked the looks of the last boat on that thread. I think Larry and I could build that one ! Might be a good thing for us to do this winter ! Thanks for sharing those interesting sites and information ! Take care.. Tracy "Dragonfly"

Another source for plans, material and / or kits is Chesapeake Light Craft at www.clcboats.com. They have a lot of kayak designs using the stitch -n- glue construction technique and some small boats suitable for sailing or use as a tender.

Currently have an Eastport Pram aboard Mood Magic.
