Boo!

We got "Boo'd". Someone drops off a Halloween goodie basket, rings your doorbell, leaves the basket, and runs off before you get to the door. I had never heard of this before. There are instructions in the goodie basket to do the same to two other people. Joan made up the baskets, and I got to be sneaky.

It's mostly retired folks where we live, so we don't get trick-or-treaters that come to our door.

Now, I gotta tell you, I've not been one to get into Halloween since we've been here, but this was kinda fun. I even carved a pumpkin today... haven't done that since our daughter was little (and she's 35 now). The standards have changed...

To keep this semi-on-topic for boats, here's the pumpkin on display outside...

And, so you don't think I wasted my whole day with this, here's what we did earlier...

That's the beach on South Padre Island. The winter tourists aren't here yet - can you tell?

Happy Halloween,
Jim B.

Back in the day, folks used to leave something else on the door step and run :) That's a nice looking beach you got there

B~C, having just read your last post in another thread and scrutinizing the fine print, I stayed true to our philosophy and did not edit or delete. However, had you included any fine print in the above post I would have zapped it for sure.

ya, I know I was pushing the envelope over there but it kind of fit. Feel free to blip it if you wish

that's some durn fine pumkin carving there

 Ken, good to see "working" all summer didn't affect your sense of humor. Nor Mike's.

I was going to discuss what you left on people's doorstep, but Mike might zap this whole thread, and I worked too hard on that jack o' lantern for that! 8) For imformation sake, I did not light the goodie bag on fire when I rang the doorbell.

Best wishes,
Jim

I've heard it's reallllllly fun when you light it before you run...that true? :wink
On second thought (edit), in true holiday spirit, one could add a candle and light the candle!

I love your pumpkins. However they are not the best, my grandaughter Lizzie's is the best. I know for sure because she told me so when I picked her up at kindergarten and she told me she had checked all the other kids' pumpkins and hers is the best. But, yours are nice too. :love

Roger (Sensei), it would be great if you could "resurrect" the pix of the C-Dory pumpkins your family did several years ago. (Maybe Joe "Sea Wolf" will see this first and be able to do it). (I don't recall, but perhaps the photos were on the old C-Dog site).

Gosh.... reading all your posts, makes me think what a great group of folks you all are.....nice folks... family..
My daughter is in the kitchen finishing our punkin.... looks cute.. and I miss having little ones...

Sue is retiring this May and we plan on trying to get out and see all our friends .... especially our C-Dory friends..

Thanks for posting those pictures....I love em...

this was my sons edition for last year. not sure what he is doing this year

Roger,

Thanks for posting last year's pumpkin photo of R-MATEY and the bridge at LaConner. Please let Jeremiah know how much we still appreciate him doing that. One of our favorite additions to the R-MATEY album.

Happy Halloween.

Boo! And similar salutations of the season.

Anacortes is a huge Halloween shock to us, after living with hordes of Utah kids coming door to door. I think the doorbell rang three times, and one of those was some older kids coming back to get more!
