Boat Trailer

I was towing my trailer to get it inspected because it has brakes. I was hearing a squeal noise, stopped and looked around nothing. Continued on Got to North Hampton Blvd. and Diamond Springs RD. As I was crossing I saw the rear axel and tire was dragging. I was lucky I did not have the boat on the trailer. Only one set of springs was in tack. The rest all broke. Had it towed back to my marina. I will replace all the springs and U-bolts. They had rusted worse than they appeared. Check Your springs, and suspension. Neal

The trailer is a Venture, double axel. Brakes are on the front axel, drum. I just changed them out last year. I did not think the leaf springs would brake, but they did. Too much salt water exposure. The trailer just sat at Vining's Landing. I did check out the prices at Northern Tool. They have everything that I need. Then I will take it to Bobs Boat Trailers. Have them check to make everything is straight and right. Then to have it inspected. Next Year. Right now the trailer is sitting at Vining's. I am glad I did not have the boat on the trailer. Bob's will sell parts and also do the work for you, just like Portsmouth Trailer. If you are going to do the work yourself, then I would suggest that you go to Portsmouth Trailer, as they have a very large (in stock) inventory of leaf springs at a fair price without any BS...
