Starting to think about the boat lettering. I have seen some great designs here. Are painted on or decal? Any suggestions as to what to do. Size suggestions. I have a name picked out.
They are almost all vinyl decals - there are dozens of online sites that will let you pick colors, letter size, fonts and effects. I just googled "boat decal" and got a lot of hits - this is the one that popped up, I have no idea if it is any good or not, but you can play around with a lot of them for free, then compare prices and so forth.

Patrick, Boat US/West Marine both have ordering stuff on their websites that you can design your own name on. Different Fonts/Sizes/Colors, etc. That's where I got ours, easy to install and not too expensive (relatively speaking) compared to gold leaf, etc...
Pat is right; many choices exist for your graphics and vinyl should be just fine.
At the Sequim Bay gathering this past weekend, we were impressed enough with the graphics on DogHouse to order our own today for the Jenny G.
The shop is Speedy Signs, they have a great online design tool, and they don't seem to have the usual 200% markup for regular things sold as "marine" grade (yes, some things really are marine grade but vinyl letters just aren't one of them).
If you decide to go with West Marine, be sure to call and get their brochure. It's much easier to shop with than the Web site. Ours arrived just a few days after I called.
