boat height limits?

I did a little searching the forums but didn't find a thread on boat heights. I looked up the Erie canal website and they show 15.5 ft as the lowest clearance. I'm about to put a radar on top of a 18" or 24" mast or arch and it got me thinking about the subject. This is on a CD22. Also, road bridges are usually 13 ft or more. I think the interstates are all good for over 14 ft.

Has anyone seen clearance issues on the water with a radar arch or tower?

Hi, there, Jeff;

We have the tall radar arch and a radome on top of that as you can see in the pic below. As you can see, that's less than 8' above water. We've never had a problem with ANY bridge clearance in the water, after we drop the antenna. Not even close. Also, when the boat is on the trailer, there is plenty of clearance at gas stations, most of which have 11' height.

Went through the Eire Canal with a sailboat (mast down,) and had plenty of clearance on those bridges, it's one of the great trips to take.

I have the tall radar arch on my 25 and it is 11 1/2 feet from the ground sitting on a roller trailer to the top of the radar dome. The waterline is 3 1/2 feet up. So in the water I am right about 8 1/2 ft for clearance (VHF antennas in the down position)
