Blue Sea Fuse Panel

I am considering replacing the ancient Sea Dog rocker switch panels on my 88 cruiser w 2 Blue Sea six switch panels. Do they mount on cabin side of dash in same manner?

You should be able to find the exact dimensions of the Blue Seas panels on their site. They should cover about the same area in one panel. If you use a second panel, you may have to do a cut out, and or enlarge the other where the Sea Dog panel was. Be sure and back every circuit with its own Fues. I usually change out the 6 fuse panel for a 12 fuse (or more) panels.

Thanks Bob. I have more than I'll ever need with the two sixes I currently have so replacing them would be sufficient. Looking at all those soldered connections that need to be redone is daunting though.

I have installed many Blue Seas breaker panel/switchs and have always found them to be of great quality and easy to wire up. As for all that soldering, check out Practical Sailors long term testing of solder vs. crimped conectors they found out that a properly done high quality crimp was to be prefered, soldering can leave a stiff area of wire that is prone to being brittle and subject to vibration failure.
