I want to thank all of the C Brats that have taken time to post their ideas, suggestions and drawing for various projects. This information helped me outfit "We Bit" for our Gulf Stream crossing.
We launched south of Miami at Convoy Point (Biscayne Bay) and "went out" through Caesar creek. The trip across was uneventful but even with tabs all the way down, we had to run slow (12-18mph) to keep the boat from pounding. Conditions were even better on the return and we averaged 22-24mph.
Hotel & dock prices were reasonable but, as expected, fuel and groceries were expensive. Gas was $6.22/ gallon, Milk $8/gallon and Ritz crackers cost $6.00.
I am already planing the next Bimini trip, but will probably wait until next May for the best weather conditions. Anyone interested? (-:
