Better stock up on your sinkers

This has already happened in some states and it wasn't the end of the world. The main concern is small split shot and ingestion by water fowl (same issue which resulted in bans of lead shot for shotgun waterfowl hunting). I think it may also make sense for enclosed bodies of water (e.g. fresh water ponds and lakes) that have a small exchanges of water and a heavy fishing volume. Probably makes no sense for most rivers and salt water.
 
no roger this was an attempt to get rid of all lead in fire arms. in doing so they would inflate prices even more making it harder and more costly to shoot. the lead bands on hunting water fowl already exist. this would get ride of all lead in ammo. thank fully it failed this time but Iam sure it will be back.

they just dont get the idea that shooting and hunting is part of our lives.
 
On a related note, lead was banned in paint in 1977 yet our lab sees positive blood specimens routinely from mostly children living in homes painted with lead based paints.
Mercury in the environment is another problem.
We need to reduce using both elements
