Any decent Fishing / Hunting or what used to be called Sporting Goods Stores in Alameda??? I will be stuck there Tues 1/22/08   :beer

Here's a link to reports from private boater in the area. As far as Tackle shops, I'm not familiar enough with that specific area to be of help. Good luck this weekend.

You could always go out on the water .

Hi Tim,

What do you mean by being stuck in Alameda? Do you have the whole day free, have a car? I don't know about Sporting Goods stores on the island but you could probably find a Sports Authority or similar type store in Oakland/Berkeley.

There are other things to do there. Are you into kite skiing? How about kayaking? There are also marine stores and boats to look at.

You could also take a ferry to SF fishermans warf.

If you want to do some kayaking shoot me a PM.

Thanks Steve, pm sent :) :beer

If you want to look at C-Dorys, the Outboard Motor Shop usually has the full line on the lot -- Rangers, too. They are located at the Oakland end of the Park Street bridge.

Thank You  :beer

By the way if you are a fan of the big breakfast at a classic old cafe, don't miss Ole's in downtown Alameda. They are an Alameda tradition that we were turned onto years too late.
