Anyone using a Troll Master?

We're thinking of getting the Troll Master Pro Plus for our kicker...anyone using one of these units? How do you like it? Was it easy to install? Seems like a sweet set up.

Yep, I had a Trollmaster on 2nd Byte and also have one on 3rd Byte. They are real cool. Running a kicker, I wouldn't be with out it. Mine is the Pro model. The forerunner to the current Pro Plus which is digital and incorporates expanded features.

They are an easy install as well.

Give Bill at TrollMaster a call, toll free @ 1-866-228=7655 and go over them with him. He will sure clear up any questions that you have and is good to deal with.

They make 3 models, Standard, Pro, and ProMax. He can give you the prices and explain any differences, and advantages between the models.

They are a great addition to any boat running a kicker! Sometimes I think my wife would rather have the TrollMaster on board than me. Hmmm.

Rick - I just put the Pro-max model on my Yamaha 9.9 kicker, and it's another wish-I'd-done-it-sooner project. I had tried remote cables and they were a real loser. The bracket they sent didn't fit my older (1990) kicker, and they made up a special bracket and sent it for no charge. I eventually wound up modifying their bracket (only because I have a MIG welder and am always looking for excuses to use it), but their service was great. I'd recommend spending the extra money on the Pro-max model, because it's got a geared fine-adjustment knob that really lets you tweek the speed to exactly where you want it. I think you can only get it through Trollmaster.

I installed the ProMax unit on my Yami F8 and it's great. The install wasn't bad and the thing works like a champ. You get up to 70% of full throttle for adjusting your position when it gets windy or you want to get on a different track. It's nice to not have to go back and tweak the tiller. We have our kicker slaved to our main with a connector rod so we can now steer and adjust throttle from the helm...nice! I really like the ProMax model because of the fine adjustment you can make and really get your speed where you want it.
