Been a member of this board for a long time, but don't post often. I'm ashamed to admit that I (sometimes) don't even check this board on a regular basis.
Anyway, back to to subject of my rare post. Does anybody know of any Ranger Tugs in Alaska? I see that AK Mining & Diving is listed as a dealership for them. I guess my concern is how they would perform against the heavy tidal currents we have up here (especially in Southcentral Alaska).
I'm thinking that these boats would be more subject to having to plan to run with the tide, as opposed to a faster outboard powered boat. I'm OK with that, as I grew up commercial fishing where anything over 12 kts was considered a fast boat and we always tried to run with the tide!
I guess my main question is if anybody has one (or even run one) in heavy tidal currents what their experiences have been.
Thanks for reading my rambling post!
