Another Webasto furnace install

Localboy,

No problem with strength. The piece above and horizontal is 6" deep, of 3/4" plywood. Plenty strong to span the double door opening of maybe 36". The counter top is mostly sink and Wallas, and no where for anyone to sit on it.

I couldn't work under the cabinet through the two small openings. So I cut out the mullion. I find that age has caught up with my dexterity in small spaces and working on my knees. To install the mounting bracket and the exhaust thru hull, I actually had to crawl completely into the cabinet space and sit there cross legged. I had arthroscopic surgery on my left knee last fall, and all is not quite well yet.

Hi, yes it will . I bought my espar heater ( almost identical) off the net. They are designed for use in trucks but will work just fine in a boat. you just need to make or modify the mounting bracket. buy a thru hull. Maybe buy some exhaust tube and then buy some insulation for the exhaust tube. after you have all that planned out and mounted you may have to buy or alter a fuel tank for the diesel. If I can do it , and I did , you can do it. just plan out every thing first. where you want the unit, the fuel tank, the pump and the thermostat.

An Airtop 2000 might be the ideal heater for a CD22 - I also bought one via EBay and am partway through the install (I'm remote from the boat and don't get much time to work on it). I put a D2 on a previous Arima and the process is virtually identical.

You can get the extra pieces you'll need at Sure marine:

In particular, you will want to get their exhaust through hull and their covertible mounting bracket (suggest the powder-coated aluminum one). They also sell their installation manual and I think it's well worth the $25 or so.

You have lots of options for a fuel tank (you also have options for the fuel itself - kerosene or diesel). The pickup supplied with the truck kits is an exact fit to replace the pourable spout of a portable fuel container - though the new style containers no longer have a separate molded vent. The Rotopax containers for diesel and kerosene do have the vents, and feature a sturdy mounting system.

That sounds good i think i will go that route after all the info i read on the Wallas there seems to be a real love hate relationship with those
