Just completed a bulkhead modification on our 16 Angler. Some will remember that this is the removal of the Port side of the bulkhead and part of the bulkhead's top, which creates a larger opening into the cuddy. I used my Fein Multimaster with a fiberglass cutter blade and had my son's help. The cut itself took no more than 10 minutes and with prep and re-installation of the black edging, the job took less than an hour. I'm extremely happy with the results. Not only is the space much more accessible (it's now actually functional), but the new interior sight lines make the entire boat seem larger than before. I plan to install a plywood shelf, with fiddle and cushion, that's about half or 2/3 the depth of the space. Our two small dogs will travel on top and soft luggage, groceries, etc. can stow on the floor below. The shelf will make an excellent tackle table when we're fishing. Thanks to David on Alyssa Jean for advice and the initial inspiration to do this. I have the remaining piece of the bulkhead, TGW the plywood wedge and locking top door: If anyone wants either they're free for the taking. Happy Father's day to the fathers among you. Mike.
