Thanks to all on the welcome back, which I too admit was not really a return. I have always considered myself a Brat and a part of C-Dorydom ever since I signed on the dotted line that Jeff Messmer held out to me in the spring of 2004.
I do plan on bringing the boat to Fishermen's Terminal, and Friday Harbor. I have time conflicts with LaConner (Montana fly fishing trip) and Lake Powell (Grand Ronde fly fishing trip) oops, my priorities are showing!
Marty, an electric ww wiper motor is on the list of things to be added. It is amazing how far forward that little handle is! I have moved the seat forward on the base to give my knees about 2 inches of clearance, and the handle is much easier to reach, but not good enough.
I have not tried casting a fly rod from the boat yet. It will certainly force me to keep my cast between "10 and 2". If I can fish from the boat, that is just an added bonus. It did come with a manual downrigger. I wonder what that is for?
Yesterday I spent trying to figure out how to get my upper half out of the forward hatch. I wasn't having much luck until I went at it on my side. Works good. So, anchoring will be done from here, just as I did on the 19.
I am going to come up with a new name for the 16. I am thinking that if my Lab takes to the boat, I will call her "Labradory". :dog
Again, Thanks for all of the kind words.
Robbi
