Another Brat returns to C-dorydom!

Congrats Robbi!
Love that white and green color!
I can't imagine not having a C-Dory after you've had one, must have been hard to be without, but you're now happier, I'll bet!
Can't wait to see the new 16 and maybe we can go for a little spin?

Robbi-

Congratulations!

Have you tried fly casting out of it yet?

Any problem clearing the gunnels and motor?

Any way to build a small raised platform near the motor well?

Anyways, welcome back! (Like you ever left…HA!!!)

Joe. :teeth :thup

Thanks to all on the welcome back, which I too admit was not really a return. I have always considered myself a Brat and a part of C-Dorydom ever since I signed on the dotted line that Jeff Messmer held out to me in the spring of 2004.

I do plan on bringing the boat to Fishermen's Terminal, and Friday Harbor. I have time conflicts with LaConner (Montana fly fishing trip) and Lake Powell (Grand Ronde fly fishing trip) oops, my priorities are showing!

Marty, an electric ww wiper motor is on the list of things to be added. It is amazing how far forward that little handle is! I have moved the seat forward on the base to give my knees about 2 inches of clearance, and the handle is much easier to reach, but not good enough.

I have not tried casting a fly rod from the boat yet. It will certainly force me to keep my cast between "10 and 2". If I can fish from the boat, that is just an added bonus. It did come with a manual downrigger. I wonder what that is for?

Yesterday I spent trying to figure out how to get my upper half out of the forward hatch. I wasn't having much luck until I went at it on my side. Works good. So, anchoring will be done from here, just as I did on the 19.

I am going to come up with a new name for the 16. I am thinking that if my Lab takes to the boat, I will call her "Labradory". :dog

Again, Thanks for all of the kind words.

Robbi

Robbi,

Feels funny to say "Welcome back" to the fishing queen of C-Dory-hood (Thanks RogerB) but now, when I'm crossing that new high $$$ and HI UP bridge, I can be looking for a 16 out there and know that the fish are all getting ready to give it up.

Enjoy setting up your new boat, and hope to see you on the water somewhere this summer.
