Anchorage, AK craigslist posting

I saw the same add. I was wondering if "four storks" were enough to move the boat through the water

Actually, if I lived closer I'd take a serious look at it.

I check out this boat about a month ago. Nice older guy, but he told me the engines were both 04. I checked the serial numbers and called the dealer and found the main to be a 01, and the kicker to be 94. His new CL posting has the right year now for the main, but the kicker is a Honda 94, not a Yamaha 98.

I don't think the seller is truly meaning to misrepresent his boat engines, just old and forgetful.

But I do have to say, when I corrected him on his motors, and started digging on other comments he had told me about the boat, he got mad, said the deal was off, and escorted me out.

I had cash in hand, I thought I was respectful, but wanted facts not fiction, and I was still willing to pay the price, but the seller just really flipped out - and I did not want that kind of karma when buying my boat.

It is a good deal, but the boat has seen some deferd maintnenace for sure.

Wow! Buyer beware for sure. It always makes me a little leery when the seller of an item (truck, motorcycle, boat) starts getting defensive or agitated when you start to ask very specific questions.
