Anchor Light

I am going to be carrying kayaks on the roof of my 22' cruiser this year and I am going to need a taller anchor light. I need to replace the 24" Perko that came with the boat with one about a foot taller. I would like to use the existing base which, as near as I can tell, l is Perko #1125. I would like to to have a LED bulb.
Does anyone have any suggestion?

Hey Bruce, I have a 3 1/2 footer that you can have.

It is Attwood brand. Should be easy to take the base off of yours and put it on this one if the Attwood base does not work with your Perko base. I have done it many times. May have to tap out a retaining pin or drill out an aluminum pop rivit. Use a tubing cutter to cut a few inches off of the pole if you need a bit more wire to work with.

Just cut and slide shrink wrap over the wires, reconnect, solder, slide the shrink tubing down over the splice and heat it to seal.

This bulb should convert it to a LED. http://www.superdiscountleds.com/produc ... -bulb.html

The lens is multi faceted so it should work well.

Another good source of LED bulbs is super bright leds.com.

Nice work on the new enclosure.

Hope to see you in the spring for some cruising.
