Anacortes 2010

There may or may not be a 2010 Anacortes gathering, but it will NOT be on a date close to the FH gathering. I'd like to do it during the Anacortes Art Festival but I am not sure we could get dock space then. Any requests or comments?

The first weekend in August. So for 2010 that would be August 6-7-8. However, I seem to recall asking the Cap Sante dockmaster about it and being told that was the one weekend when they did not book groups because it was their busiest weekend of the year. I will have to confirm that if there is any interest. We could, of course, come in individually and not as a group -- they never turn anyone away. The downside is that we would not be likely to have a common dock.

Another possibility would be during the Anacortes Jazz Festival, which is Labor Day weekend.

There are a couple of other events in May like TrawlerFest and the Waterfront Festival but they are too close to the FH CBGT.

Personally, a "common dock" is not important. It's the great CBRAT activities that surround our gatherings that are important to us. I like the idea of the art festival gathering, but how would that fit in with the Bellingham gathering?

I don't know when Bellingham will be. Ruth, will it be 7/23-25/2010?

Here is a new possibility, just announced today. Lattitudes & Attitudes is bringing a party event to Cap Sante that includes a Jimmy Buffet-type concert (this used to be in Poulsbo). That would be August 14-15. Hopefully that would not conflict with Nanaimo, which was the end of July last year. If there is interest in this I will ask Cap Sante if we can have some slips for it. They are expecting 200 boats so it is possible there will not be room.
