An Electric Beetle?

Got curious about one of our new Brat Friends and looked at the website on his profile. He lists his occupation as "Manager", so I'm not sure how he's connected with this but, having had VW Beetles in the past, it's kinda neat.

CHECK IT OUT

I have no connection with this product at all, wish I lived closer so I could possibly own one though...

Wish I had my Dad's old 56. It was the 3rd one in North Dakota when we got it. Talk about parking lot conversation piece.

Probably more like 6 or 8 now!

I restored a 71 Super B convertible for my daughter with a custom dual carb bored/stroked chrome engine in it with flared Fbg fenders, Porsche wheels, etc, etc. Finally got rid of it when she kept running into the concrete/brick pillars at the end of the driveway while "backing" out! :disgust

It did teach me a lot about fiberglass repair though, very helpful in my boating work! (There, now I've made this a boat topic....)

Lots of street credit with an electric Beetle. Especially with the hippy generation. 455 air conditioning (four windows down, 55 mph) and barely enough room for two plus groceries. Nostalgia piece for sure and cheap if you compare Brian's offering to the Leaf or the Aptera (which is built very near here). I remember paying $56/mo for 36 long months to own one.

If I were to convert anything I'd use a 1974-8 mini pickup truck. Small with lots of battery space and (with a cap) lots more room for groceries/dogs. Plus maybe the cajones to pull a C-16 50 miles or so.

I suspect in the coming years conversion kits will be available.

Nice work, Brian
