Aluminum Corrosion Question

On the older C-Dorys, before anodized powder coated frames there was/is plain old aluminum window frames. What, if anything, can be done to clean up the corrosion that has attacked it? Is there any way to make them better than they look now?

After wire brushing out corrosion, grinding with Dremel tool any significant corrosion, sand and cleaning with acetone (or other metal prep solvent), then coat with Alodine. Use one of the two part stronchium chromate or zinc chromate epoxy primers and paint with a good polyurethane paint.

If there is deep pitting, consider filling with JB weld before sanding etc. There are also some epoxy sticks which are easier to mold---and can be used to rebuild lips etc.
