Has anyone installed an Airmar 260, 1000 watt transom mount transducer on their boat? If you have, how much did it act like trim tab. I have it mounted on a board and clamped to the transom on the port side. I would like to keep it on the port side since that is the heaviest side of the boat when the live well is full. I know you are not suppose to mount a transducer on the port side to stay away from the upward prop wash. I'm going to try it on the board and clamp it to various positions to see if it matters before I drill holes.

I dont have one but I hear they are a great improvement over the p66. several fishing buddies have them on their boats and swear by them.
 
I installed one a couple years ago on my 25. It is a big transducer. Haven't noticed it affecting anything. Sure was an improvement over the p66. Now I can watch shrimp crawling into my pots...... :D
 
nunya, which chart plotter are you using with the 260?
