ActiveCaptain adds boat ramps...

We released version 1.5 of ActiveCaptain today (http://www.activecaptain.com). This new version adds a database of more than 3,000 boat ramps throughout the United States. I have to admit that this version was started because of feedback from many C-Brats.

I know that 3,000 ramps is the very basic beginning of what is out there. If you have favorite places to launch your boat, please check if we have it. If not, add it so others will know about it. You can also add notes to any boat ramp if there is something that others should know (fees, phone numbers, parking restrictions, etc).

OK, how does one find a launch ramp? In San Diego?

Probably the best way would be to use Find to get to San Diego. Turn off the red marina markers and green anchorage markers by clicking on the marker section on the left side of the map (that will de-clutter the display).

Zoom in to the areas that you're interested in and look for Boat ramp blue markers. The list on the left side will show when a blue marker is a boat ramp. Get it's details to see if there is more information about the marker.
