Well, here I am again.
And I have
Lumina 1720 Windows 8.1 phones through AT&T which work well. I have installed an
ATT home base Internet device and have two wireless land lines, one is at my home in Maine and the other here in Heathsville, VA. They both will ring here if I chose to have them. I have divested myself of two Verizon land lines. My ATT wireless signal here at my home in Heathsville has 4 solid bars of serivce. Here's a list of what I now have and what I did have.
Now have:
ATT mobile share plan for ~$150 per month (
with about 25GB of shared data per month, unlimited text, unlimited calling) serving:
-two land liines (one here in Heathsville, VA and one at my home in Maine), both sucessfully ported from Verizon to ATT.
-two Windows 8.2 Lumina 1720 cell phones on the ATT network
-an iPad3 using the wireless internet here at home and my shared internet while on the road (from the Lumina phones)
-Home internet with a great signal throughout the house for this all in one desktop and 5 other various laptops many of which will be for sale shortly
-Garage door openers which open occasionally of their own will (wireless 2.5Ghz remotes), yet to figure that out but I eventually will.[I think it's related to bluetooth]
-Two remotely operated ceiling fans on our screened porch which occasionally start, also of their own free will [see bluetooth above]
-A wireless home phone system here in VA (already had it) with 7 extensions that still works fine. It's a VTech system and has great range. Line 1 is my Maine home (doesn't ring here) Line 2 is our Heathsville home. Both have answering machines built in.
This $150 month plan replaces:
-Hughesnet GEN 4 satellite internet here in VA that cost me $112/month
-An ADT home security system with Verizon backup that cost me $35/month
(more on that below)
-Three Verizon land lines (I dropped my business line), don't really need it now, one in Maine and one here in VA that were costing me approx $140 a month
-An internet system at my home (A seasonal rental that pays for itself) in Maine which cost me about $300 per year. That will be replaced by an ATT wireless internet which I will add to my Mobile Share Plan when I next go up there in the Spring of '15. That will add about $5 to my plan bill when that device is added.
On the Home Security: ATT Digital Life does not yet serve my area here in VA. It will soon. Then I will add that to my Mobile Share Plan. My Home security now here in VA is provided by my Navy Sword and me in my shorts running down the hall in the middle of the night. My Home Security in Maine is provided by the local Moose population but I will add ATT as soon as it serves that area as well. :thup
What did all this ATT stuff cost, well may you ask grasshopper. Little to nothing, relatively speaking. The Lumina phones are included in my plan costs, no contract on that plan. Remember the ~$150 per month? It will serve 10 devices! :love Some of the other devices cost me about $150 at the time, not including my Government discount (Retired USN). You can do the math as an exercise to run at home.

BTW, that discount applies to all my ATT stuff, even the plan.
Ready for the many questions, I'm up early every day here on the Right Coast, still working from home as a Consultant. Lots of this stuff is deductible too, since I have an LLC (CVSI LLC). I do my own taxes [may swith from
HRBlock to
Taxcut this year] (never been audited but I'm ready for that too if it occurs, my records with
MINT.COM are irreplaceable.....that may change once I get too old...That may never happen, I hope

I know I will die eventually too!... [just in case you were wondering if I thought I was immortal. I may be somewhat immoral and irreverent (listening
SEAWOLF JOE?) but I know I am not immortal!]
Now I'll quit, clean my home office (deductible) and have a second cup of caffeinated Keurig coffee! :love
Listening Pat Anderson? :hug :love
