A Memorial Day Toast for tomorrow

Now that the Indy 500 is over, I want to ask that everyone raise a glass tomorrow dedicated to those who gave their all in the service of their country.

When we lived in Naperville IL, Veteran's Park was around the corner from our home and the ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day were very moving for me as were our visits to The Wall and other memorials when we lived in Washington DC.

While one wore Navy blue, I know there are at least two other NAS JAX trained AEs on this list so a special Semper Fi to them too.

A toast to my fallen Brothers.

Tomorrow is not the last day of a mattress sale but the day we honor those who Lincoln said "they gave the last full measure of devotion".
Their sacrifices make the lives we have today possible, I salute them.

True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost. Quote by Arthur Ashe

To all who have served this fine country, thank you.

A Veteran is someone who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to:

'The United States of America'

for an amount of:

'up to and including my life.'

That is Honor!

Thank you fellow Vet's and service members!

This was my first post and the one thing I would come out from lurking to support. I think it was fitting. Hi everybody!

We attended a very emotional church service yesterday honoring veterans. In our small congregation there are five remaining WWII veterans, several Vietnam veterans, and a few current conflict veterans. What an awesome group of men and women! Thank you veterans and families of veterans for all your sacrifice!
