a few 16' questions

Hello

I just bought Gizmo a 16' cruiser from Steve in Lake Tahoe. We took it out on Lake Shasta and got it up to 24 knots. He had a 11 5/8X11 prop in it due to the higher altitude.
We took her out on Lake Stevens and 20 knots was top speed. I put on a spare one that he had its a 10 1/4 X14.

She has a Yamaha 50 hp. What are your thoughts on the size?
We are planning on going to Indian Island this weekend two adults and two small kids.

While I got you here I noticed that the bilge pump does not have a float on it. Should this be a concern?

Last one, is it possible to get the letter "e" in the c-dory font? My last name is Dore. Thought it would be fun to do.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Steve – I believe the bilge pumps used on the 16 cycles at a predetermined interval and if it senses water, it will pump until it no longer senses water. With this type of pump, no float is necessary.

As to the C-Dory font, check with a lettering or graphics shop. Anything is possible.

Welcome aboard and you have a great little boat. Hope to cross wakes with you someday.

If you get a chance come up to the Friday Harbor CBGT this weekend. I am going by boat from Olympia and will be passing the Seattle area late Friday morning.

Steve-Welcome to the wonderful world of 16 footerdom. Forget about the prop for now, that's for later. Just dump her in the water and follow Oldgrowth Dave to the C-Brats this weekend. If his 16 footer appears longer than yours, it's just an illusion. Again, welcome.

Dave if you're going up the Swinomish stop by and the beer is on me. :beer We should be able to find a spot for a couple of hours.

PS Watch the West side of the channel on lows :smileo

Capn Jack – can I have a rain check on that until next weekend. I will be going through there for the Anacortes gathering next Friday.

I am going to miss the Friday Harbor gathering. I have some acreage SW of Olympia next to Capitol Forest and gave a permit to a friend for some Maple on it. The access to it is through a neighbors property and they locked the gate, so I will have to go there in the morning and cut the lock, then will have to deal with them that afternoon. I was told I would have trouble with them when I bought the property.

It will be too nice of a weekend not to go out in the boat. Terri is not feeling too well, so I will get Ben Toland and we will go out Saturday. May make it as far north as Seattle.
