A Couple C-Dory Prices

Well it should be interesting tomorrow. I have had an appointment with Les at EQ for a month or so. There is a warranty shift part in the Honda 150 that needs to be changed out. No problem with the Honda as he is still a Honda dealer. However I was also supposed to have a wiper motor either replaced or fix (it won't shut off when you turn off the switch, and sometimes runs for 10-20 minutes) and two of the power panel rocker switches need to be replaced since the red switch lights are burned out. I have to do a $40 ferry ride to get the boat off the island to take it to a dealer. For $40 I guess it would be cheaper just to pay Les to replace things if it comes to that. I don't expect him to eat it. I would call him, but they are closed for vacation until tomorrow at 9am when I am supposed to be there.

That is definitely a problem....I had planned on buying our next C-Dory from Les.... He's a great dealer... It is a loss to the integrity of the company to loose such a fine dealer....

Luckily we in Southern California have gotten a new dealer in Oxnard, Ventura and Marina Del Rey.... I looked at the repairs he has done to Fishtales and they are First Class...

As to whatever happened between Cutter and C-Dory.... That's Scotts business and not ours.... Sometimes I think we stick our noses into the business too much...... It's his decision how to lead the company....not an easy thing to do.... and maybe everything we see is not perfect...but you can't fault him for trying ....... I have yet to ever hear of him refusing to help someone or repair something ...... still the best company I have ever bought ANYTHING from...

Dang good point, Joel!

The "Dark Side" of all of us C-Brats being "like family" is that we feel compelled to stick our nose into everybody's else's business inside our clan, which extends into the factory and dealers!

I spoke to Ruthie from Cutter last Saturday at the boat show, they are discontinuing sales of C Dory and will, I believe, focus on Arima...

It is as if I am living in the twilight zone. I keep reading about the dealers that have been dropped but still find them listed as dealers on the C-Dory web site.

Both Cutter Marine and E Q Harbor Service are still listed as dealers for C-Dory Classic & Venture Series boats.

What did I miss? What did I miss? I looked back through the thread and didn't see anything specifically about EQ.

I have to agree with that statement, and not even begrudgingly so. Except I still want to know what I missed.

The discussion regarding EQ was on an earlier thread, perhaps several weeks ago. I'm guessing that an accommodation (keeping them listed as dealers temporarily) was made to the dropped dealers to make it easier for them to clear their C-Dory inventories. There was a point where Cutter didn't seem to be on the C-Dory web site and then appeared again.

At the time I didn't know whether it was due to the changes to the web site or whether it related to Cutters status as a dealer.

I dropped off the boat this morning at Les's. He has not been told by C-dory that he is not a dealer any longer. I, like most all of the rest of you who has ever had reason to talk boat, buy boat, have service done, talk boat hope that he remains a dealer.

I am also having a Raymarine autopilot installed.
