A Brief Conversation with Tyboo

This is kind of a funny one.

Washington has this goofy law about using cell phones while driving. Always wanting to comply, I am trying to set my phone up for voice commands.

So, I have the wired earbud on. I give the voice command to test it out "Call Patty." The phone responds "Did you say call (unintelligible)." So I say "Yes."

Now Patty's phone is not ringing. She says "I wonder who you just called!"

My phone rings, it is Tyboo Mike. I say "Mike!" He says "You just called me!" Well, he is out fishing, we are going sailing, but what the hey, it is a pleasant little conversation anyway!

That reminds me of an old Jim Stafford song.

I was anchoring the boat or I would have caught the call and not needed to call back. That was a nice little break in the routine. And a wonderful little three sentence conversation that made my whole day brighter. I'm glad you called.

Yeah, and when I bought a six dollar bottle of wine at Safeway today the cashier actually asked me for identification! Thats the first time in at least 50 years that that has happened. I guess it's the exercise or maybe my new partial denture......
