Some of the marinas I might spend the night at have only 50a power. I've been looking to find an adapter to allow my 30a shore power cord plug into a 50a socket. So far the prices I have found for these adapters are way more than I expect. Does anyone know where I can get such an adapter at a reasonable price?

The adapter I got for 15a to 30a was only $5 (granted it was used).

Thanks.

SoBelle,
Last year I too was on the hunt to find the same adapter to keep aboard my boat for travels. Bottom line is I did not find any bargains... For the time being, I borrow my sailing buddy's adapter now when I travel, as he and I would typically not be using it when I am not traveling on his sailboat.
If anyone has found a source at a great deal, please post it.
Best regards,
Steve Baum

You can make your own up from the two end fittings and some suitable cable, but the fittings and cable will cost $80-$100 or more, depending on where you buy them. :sad

Here's one for $60 NEW if it's still available:

And here's a discussion of Marine Shore Power Adaptors and how to make them up:

Be careful, the 50a shorepower connections at marina's around here are 240v not 120v.
