Hah, thats funny!
Lucky you didn't lose all of your stuff, unlucky it happened.

Looks like a lot of regret is happening in these couple of days... Are the gods playin with us?

That is terrible.
I hope the dummy plays with the Epirb and activates it. Then his stuff could be "rescued".
Make sure the device is re-registered as stolen. Odds are he will get it back.
A sad day but it could have been worse. I hope he gets caught and gets what he/she deserves.

Don't know if FishWisher monitors this site -- if not, maybe someone could pass this on -- but I've got $100 that I would be pleased to add to his reward offer. Anyone else out there want to pony up? The scumbags who do this kind of thing should know that they are dealing with a community when they ransack a C-Dory. This is one check I hope I have an opportunity to write.

Yeah -- I'll do it also. Somebody might want to clue the other website in as well. If we can get enough cash pledged for a reward to do so, hopefully there is someone on these websites that has some savvy with the news and can get it published or publicized. The electronics theives need to know that if you pick on a C-Dory, there's a posse formed quickly.

Folks,
I got an email back from Dale. He appreciates the offers and the sentiment behind them, but respectully declined any assistance for reasons of his own.

However, I think his misfortune may have sparked a good idea here among the community: a kind of cross between group insurance and the Guardian Angels. If and when a C-Dory owner suffers vandalism or (heaven forbid) the theft of his boat, we can sound the alarm here. We've got several hundred folks around the country who can be on the lookout for the perpetrator, and some will no doubt be willing to chip in for a reward fund. (But please - no C-Brat lynchings!)

Best wishes,

FishWisher, I'm really sorry that happened. That act supercedes points of view, and hurts all of us. I hope the fetid crackhead is apprehended, made to pay and put away.

And I hope FishWisher the boat soon gleams anew.

Hi, Tom,

I started a similar thread this morning. I haven't yet figured out how to do links here, but hopefully thefollowing will get you to our Theft Alert on the C-DOGs:

http://groups.msn.com/CDoryOwnersGroup/ ... 7412050536

Between our two groups, we can cover quite a bit of ground quickly. Given the total number of C-Dory owners out and about at the docks, marinas, parking lots, and such at any given time, it could prove to be helpful.

If you guys get a topic or a page started, I'll link to it. If we cross-link, we can have a pretty broad base.

Ken

Great idea -- our boats are distinctive enough and enough people have pictures posted of them, that a search effort could be mounted fast and effectively.

A great way to use the I-Net! I-Net a perp . . .
