22'Cruiser Options/Power/Equipment ????

Most of the 4 strokes are good, if you are paying extra for "acceleration" etc, I would re-think the expense based on the c-dory hull design etc. If you could buy less maintenence, or longer trouble free life, yes, but a little more acceleration is probably not going to make your C-Dory a better boat, unless you are in a bass tournement with it...., then there is the question of twin 45's or a 90... the boat is so easy to handle to begin with, but counter rotating props are pretty handy, so that is a close call, I think the issue of maintaining one motor and having a kicker to use on a dinghy or small boat would be an advantage......but a dinghy with a 45 would again be pretty impressive..ha ha

I have a 16# bruce on the bow with 40' of chain and 150' of rode. I've used the bruce in various types of bottom. Last year, we rode out a night of 25-30 knot winds with no anchor slip (sandy bottom)

We talked about the C-Salt....many conversations and several emails back and forth with Sawdust. It's set up exactly like we want ours.....but we've finally decided to take the one that's being built now and take advantage of the Honda 5.99% financing. We're also ordering a tandem axle trailer after reading the forum online here. The C-Brats site has been sooooo helpful in figuring out what to get.

So, we'll find out Saturday if they'll give me a compromise price on trading in my ol' '87 Duckworth -- and as it looks right now, we stand the chance of being boatless in the peak of the Buoy 10 run and our campground reservation in Astoria -- but I'd rather they take their time and make the boat right! :wink

Wish us luck! :)
Caty n Steve....now to pick out a boat name...I said Orcasm...he said no...C-Roemer ... maybe .... Caty Mae and he grinned a huge grin...but I still like Shut up & Fish
