2015 Columbia river fall chinook

cool, have fun, be safe. We're going to head out in a bit, probably throw an anchor out at marker 79 below the Lewis until the tide turns & then head upriver to troll the incoming.
see ya on the river

OK Good luck. We are just upstream in this zoo of boats trying to copy them. Can I use a treble hook here with no barbs or do I need to replace them with single point hooks ?

Mark

barbless trebles are fair game, Dupont spinners, not so good. Ya there's a few boats on the river, but, wait until tomorrow. Putting up with that train noise tonight will be all worth it when you see the ramp madness in the morning.

We're home on lunch break now, catch you in a few hours

Mike, thanks for keeping the peace around here. I was pretty sure Ken wasn't beating my head, I wasn't far enough north. As to fishing, I'm learning. Scored two, half fish on my trip this summer. A system I am working on improving.

Mark, best of luck, copy Ken and it'll help that luck. No hurry on the fender. I may be down that way on of these days. Still need to get down into the south Sound at some point. Or maybe an excuse for a motorcycle ride.

I am in Corvallis, Oregon (sans boat) working on a project. I have some fishing gear- mostly set for trolling in the salt.
I do most of my fishing in the ocean and don't have much experience river fishing.
I would like to get out for some salmon if I could "boat ho" with someone.

Damnit, Roger, bad timing, it would be a kick in theass to go fishing with you but your timing is off. How long are you going to be around these parts? days, weeks?

Ranger, that sure is a nice looking boat, I noticed it doing a few circles at the wing dams, did you pick a few up?

Thanks you also have a real nice looking boat looks all set up. We missed one and lost a nice one it came up in the air a few times and gave us a great show so it was still a good time. We're going to try it again today for a bit before we head out.

Mark

Thanks B~C. I was partly messing around....partly.

I really do want to learn to do this for the future. My son and g-kids live nearby in Battle Ground. My son loves to fish, but w/ four kids he can't afford a boat. I hear a lot about buoy 10 etc so I figured once we re-locate... I'll have to learn all the tricks but retirement is at least 6 yrs away....

Hey Mark, that time will fly like nobody's business. Battle Ground, a nice area close to but not in all the city stuff.

Ken- Unless something else comes up, it looks like I may be here for a few more months- couple years.
I was able to go out for tuna with a friend in Coos Bay- 7 tuna and a tub of crab.

the fishing is still good on the big river. I had to do my Prime Minister of Israel imitation....I was a NettenYahoo as the kid and our special guest star hit a double, ending the morning fishing adventure with five in the bag. What a fun morning, good fishing & good company

Yes- I agree, good fishing and even better hosts. It was great to get a C-Dory fix and fish with a fellow Brat. The fish is in the smoker now. :thup

Thanks for the invite,
