2007 Tomcat 255
Asking price: $79,900

A meticulously maintained fast-cruising boat that has everything you need for multi-day trips. It comfortably sleeps three adults- two on the queen-size berth forward and one on the convertible berth in the cabin. Top Cat has given us lot of pleasure going up and down the Intracoastal Waterway in Texas, Louisiana and the west coast of Florida.

From the cruiser’s perspective, there’s a refrigerator and hot-water heater; a two- burner Wallas stove/cabin heater; a freshwater head with a holding tank; indoor and outdoor showers; and a stereo with CD-player. In addition to the cabinet space, it has voluminous storage in the sponsons- perfect for stashing sleeping bags, pillows, sheets, towels, foul-weather gear and extra clothing. Also, there are no holes in the bottom of the boat, so no seacocks to worry about!

The boat is currently at Wefing’s Marine in Eastpoint FL, near Appalachicola (www.wefings.com). The sale is being handled by Marc Grove at Wefing’s. Please call him directly on his cell (850-653-5950) or business phone (850 - 670 8100). His e-mail address is marc@wefings.com.

Do you have any performance #'s ?
Top speed and cruising speeds ?
Aprox fuel burn.
Just reading your blogs it looks like you cruised 1/2 the country and still have under 500 hours ?
The one year warranty on the moters is through Suzuki ?
Looks like a really nice Tom Cat and I e-mailed MArc @ Wefing's to get me some better pictures and details.
Feel free to e-mail me anything to look at.

Frank:

Top speed: about 43 mph fully loaded and with bimini up.

Cruise speed: 28-30 mph. The gas consumption is pretty much the same between about 25 and 30 mph.

Fuel usage: 1.8 to 2.1 mpg, depending on wind and sea conditions. This has been the experience of all Tomcat owners.

We have covered quite a bit of coastline, but our practice was to stay local in Galveston Bay most of the year and to do one long trip every summer. That is why the engine hours are not too high.

Also, when you cruise at 30 mph, you cover a lot of distance in just a few hours. A few years ago we were trying to get out of the way of a hurricane and made it fom Corpus Christi to Galveston in under eight hours (about 200 miles). This included the waiting time involved in transiting the Brazos River Floodgates, the Colorado River locks and the Caney Creek drawbridge...

The extended warranty came with the Suzuki motors.
