2004 Seattle Boat Show and C-Brat Convention

Anyone for a summer party? You know, where people can spill out into the yard and deck. False (party) alarm, C-Gang, but our hearts were in it even if our heads weren't.
Carolyn and I reassessed our party plans and gasped "uh-oh." It's just like when I hit the buffet line and shovel more on my plate than I can manage.
I'm going to do the necessary homework to find a Friday play place that best suits us, if we have sufficient desire to still meet.

Hey Brock,
One night of partying (Sat. 1/17), will be all the partying for the Sea Shift crew. So, you don't need to worry about us for Friday night. :smile

For some reason, I got an email from www.seattleboatshow.com with an offer for tickets to the BS. Like last year, they include free parking and the bowl of clam chowder. Do we need to buy tickets this year, or will C-Dory be giving a bunch out like last year? I don't want to come off sounding like a bum, but I ain't no fool, either.

the cost of parking could be as much as the cost of tickets to the show. unless we can carpool from the motel on saturday morning to defray the cost of parking.
We will be down there friday nite and are looking forward to doing something :beer :beer :cocktail :smiled friday nite. we plan to be down there early afternoon.
see you all soon
Roger

I was wondering about the tickets as well. My guess is that C-Dory will probably have "some" tickets available, how many is anyone's guess. As Roger says the parking is a significant factor and would probably not be available with any CD gratis tickets so the online tickets might be well worth considering. Probably turn out to be a push either way you go.

Probably a push on tickets versus parking...it seems to me last year we parked about a mile away and took a shuttle in to the exhibition hall. So I guess the chowder is the deciding factor!

Just made reservations for Sat night. Kate and I are planning on coming down from Guemes Is to the show in the late morning and then over to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Ok, We like the 2 collages that Pat has posted. They have pretty much everything covered and looks like it may take both of them to do it. Hey it just shows that C-Dorys and C-Brats mean great times. We vote for both.

Wife and I are thinking about going to Seattle for the C-Brats weekend. It sounds like fun. Would appreciate any advice for first timers about tickets to boat show, etc . That hotel deal is great. We like the idea of visiting with other C-Dory owners/cruisers. We would probably drive up Friday from Portland to get a fresh start on Saturday. C-Dragon

C-Dragon it's great to hear you are coming up to the SBS and the CBC. Love to have you join all us other C-Nuts . As for tickets if you would like to buy them they are available online on the SBS website, or we may be able to get C-Dory to pitch some our way(they did last year). I will check with the Factory Monday or Tuesday and post what I find out.

Plan B.... Due to conflicts in schedules and the fact that I would rather have Kate come to the boat show with me as opposed to me coming alone, we will not be staying the night at the Larkspur. Driving down from Guemes on Sat am and attending to boat show and then hopefully having dinner with "the group" and driving back up to GI. Last ferry is at midnight.
As an aside,,,,Isn't there a C-dory named Plan B?

Plan B sounds like it will work out as best as we can hope. I do hope you are able to spend at least a little time at the CBC. It will be quite an experience for you, and an even better one for the rest of us if you stick around for a spell.

And yes, there is a CD named Plan B. I believe the owner's name is Duane, and he has been a year-long member of the original CB's. He hasn't signed on here yet, but we'll get him! There is also a PlanB and a Plan C among us on the old CB site. We'll get them, too!!

See ya in a couple weeks.

Hey Hey Hey
CBC is nearly upon us. We are counting the days to the best time of our holiday season. The chance to renue friendships of the past and to meet new people who have the same interests as us.
We are hoping to gather on friday nite for some :cocktail :beer and fellowship.
I am at present the holder of the C-Brat Banner and was wonderin iffins I should bring it down to the CBC for a little decoration ...lol...
Maybe by the time I get to the show I will have gotten a project off the drawing board and into reality that I have been thinking about....lol....
we shall see
looking forward to seeing youall in the near future

OK I talked to Dannielle at the Larkspur Landing today and we're all booked in for Friday & Saturday. Do we have any type of sign-up spot like the old site I need to check into?
Our plan is to leave here mid day at the latest and make it to Seattle in time to go by Scan Marine to pick up or drop off the Wallas depending on what they say when I talk to them on the 5th after they re-open. I think TyBoo needs to go to work for those folks so he can get some time off to use that new boat. It sounds like them folks have shut down Christmas till after New Years.
After a stop at Scan Marine we may have to check out the Lake Union In The Water Boat Show and see how the bigger, not better, half goes boating. Then we'll head to the Larkspur and be ready to talk C-Dorys and say "Howdy" to many old friends.
A topic I'm going to be interested in is the Blakely Island cruise. Anybody got an idea for a date yet? This year we don't plan on missing this event but I need to start planning to get the time off suggled so I'm looking for early input.
Have we firmed up plans for theSaturday night CBC? Do I need to bring something for a pot luck gathering? Help, my wife wants to know and I don't have any answers. Sound firmiliar?

Looking forward to some help, Tim

Tim -

The only thing I know for sure is that the Longview bridge is scheduled to be closed that entire weekend, so it looks like Highway 101 for folks down here.

I don't think we'll be needing a potluck, unless the arrangements at the Hilton don't materialize.

We haven't figured out how to do a signup list yet.
Our plan for the SBS is still to go up Saturday morning, and stay at the Larkspur that night after the CBC.

I might ask you to deliver a package to Scan Marine for me, if you are going there. I tried calling them today, too, and, well, they work the same Christmas schedule as Les at EQ. I am sending my stove in for a refurbish, I think.

Yep on the Blakely schedule. We are still hoping to go from there right up to Desolation Sound for a week or so. The sooner we can pick a date, the better the planning and scheduling will go. Of course, we might still be broke and have to skip the works!

Mike, I think Blakley has us for the same weekend in July 17th & 18. We will have to wait to find out for sure because Norma and Rick are off the month of January.

Roger, Lois & I will be driving down to the SBS Friday around noon--will spend Friday & Saturday nights at the Larkspur. We'll head home Sunday Morning. If there is a sign up sheet for Friday and/or Saturday put us on it. See you soon, :D

B/C
I'll be at the Portland show on Sunday the 4th. I don't know if C-Dory will have a booth or not. Is they do, you can find me milling around there.
