2004 Seattle Boat Show and C-Brat Convention

Well, I don't know about the inanimate love crap, but I do know for sure I ain't done no vis-a'-vis'n with my boat!

Of course you haven't.
Seriously, I like the letter. You are talented in many ways, Mike. Witness the Barber Chair. Often, guys who can work with machines don't delight in the written word, but you do. So does Les. And, okay, Da Nerd too.
Anyway, I always enjoy reading your stuff, and the factory surely was persuaded. Tell 'em I'd like a turkey sandwich on rye with Tim's Cascade potato chips, and some large curd cottage cheese. Oh, and a cold beer and the sports page, too.

Well,
I got in touch with the Larkspur and the Hilton lady today. Was informed that the C-Brats should be in the computer at the Larkspur now... And the get together at the Hilton is moving forward with some research being done by the Hilton, and they have the contact info for the C-Dory Factory,i.e Scott Reynolds, Ricardo Reulos, and Jill. Should hear something next week.

We gotta think up a title for Jim. He must take his Fed Ex job seriously, because he keeps on delivering when he's off. Maybe Radar would be a good name. (No, Jessica, that's not an insult. The name is from a TV show that was on years before you were born.) He's a key player for the CB's, but it would probably be best to not use the word "key" in his tittle.

Hey Jim - ain't you glad we're not talking about you on the neutralizing thread?

Thanks!!

I talked to the Larkspur a couple times yesterday and again this morning and to date no one on the desk is aware of the C-Brats special. Danielle has been busy in meetings and I have not been able to contact her directly.

Has "anyone" been able to confirm "C-Brat special" reservations as yet?

:smiled I also was able to get my reservations finalized at the Larkspur. they said that they would hold a block of rooms till about a week prior to the dates we decided on. so if you want to get a room it is a go
Looking forward to seeing you all

Hey! is it too late to start on that "collage project" or am I in trouble here? :xtongue Ya'll remember, I am just an amateur putter-dude still. From the heart.... it would be my pleasure to do such a task!

Greg,
When I noticed that you had posted on this thread, I thought for sure that you were going to say that you were going to join us after all at the SBS.
In answer to your question, I'd think that there is still adequate time for your photo collage....so go for it. Yeah!
and Thanks for doing it!

Not too late at all! The SBS opens January 15 I think. Thanks for taking it on!

Far out, Greg! I was really hopin' we'd have some RF magic at the SBS.

As to the size of the collage - as mentioned earlier, if you can make the shortest dimension no more than 36" (2592 pixels), I can print it full size on one of our electrostatic plotters. We have a policy at work that allows "incidental usage" - screwing around on company time, by any other definition.

My guess is, the file size will be huge, so email probably won't work. I'll drop you an email with instructions on how to upload it directly to one of my servers.

Thanks again!

Well thnx for the show of good spirit there C-Bs!

I have "dial-up", so it will be a very time consuming task to select the photo's. How-bout I get some of you to select the --Southland photo's, and I will select the ones from the Far-North.

Well, if the SBS is that far off yet... Good! it will give time to make at least a couple Collages, and then we can vote on the one to display!

There is only one thing though, most the photo's are way too low a resolution or file-size to make into such a large collage --unless, we make it consist of at least two dozen standard size pix. I'm sure Bill will inform me on the rest in the email, but I really would like someone to select the 'S-Land photo's for me.....

I don't know how we are to go about the process here. Should there be a temporary album that I can go to here, to capture the photo's on my putter, or would someone like to e-mail them to my hotmail address. (I have about 9 megs) on the hotmail account.

PS: TyBoo Mike, I really enjoy your gift to write! great letter:)

My suggestion is that those of us with pix should burn them on a CD and mail snail mail to Greg (if he doesn't mind letting us know his address), that way he can have the pix in the original camera resolution, which will make a BIG difference in quality...I already selected my photos and burned a CD...then hopefully Greg can burn the collage file on a CD and get it to Bill.

That's ok, I think I've been fired for the job! It might be best if someone with a more powerful "putter" down there, to take this task on, anyway! This little and now 3 year-old laptop just might get "blown-up" trying to make a file that huge. The problem is mostly a hard drive that is just too-full of programs as it is, to be talking that "monster" job. Anyone that has --ADOBE Photoshop --"Elements, or probably any "Photo-shop" program will easily be able to make them "collages". it's just a couple clicks and you drag them into the mixing area...that simple! I do fine with the small ones, but were talking a mega one here.

I'm too tied-up with e-mail lately, to give a "tutorial" to anyone right now. The other option is. I know this gal there in Olympia, that might take it on. She is a graphics artist, and is really excellent! She is the -cute one- in the old fishing album posing with the big ling :) Hey I sent her InjunCandy, she said she owes me... (lol)

If I continue to get minimal reply on this, (as usual) I'll just assume to let it go an ya'll can get it worked out any way you will. That's the "survival technique" I have grown accustomed to on the internet. No hard feelings!

PS: Pat I will "return to sender" that C-D. I do appreciate your effort! Just let me know (if anyone can) and I will present it to my friend to take on. ARG

As it turns out, Catman and I can't host the Friday night (1/16) get together at our house. :crook  We revisted the invite this weekend and decided there are a couple of really good reasons to party elsewhere:

1) Too crowded (our house is 900SF - typical, tiny house in Seattle). The weather has to be summer-like to accomodate a crowd.

2) The house fine-tuning isn't finished. We thought there was plenty of time to finish painting, redecorating, etc. and we've run into delays due to the holidays. This is beyond our control and YES we started the process in October. We should know better by now to add 4-6 months to any completion date when others are involved.

Catman and I will prowl around the Larkspur Hotel area over the next week and come up with another venue. If anyone has venue suggestions, speak/email up!!!

Thanks. cb

That's OK, CB. We aren't going to make it Friday night anyway.

I just made our reservation at the Larkspur for Saturday, 1/17. We will plan to go right to the BS sometime Saturday morning, and leave early enough to get checked into the room before the CBC. We'll see you all at the BS.

Oh, and by the way. Our house used to be 900SF, also. But then we closed the garage off and made it into an extra room. Then, as soon as the last kid left, we stuck a pool table in it. So, yard that boat out of the garage and nail the door shut!
