1999 CDory 22 cruiser deal of a life time

I do a lot of 22-24 mph with my twin, carbed, honda 45s. They get 3.5-5 mpg (depends on load and trim) at that speed. Top speed with the 45s is 33 mph and they are just over max RPM (not worried BTW - almost never do it). My question is how the 70 performs with a heavy boat. We bring a LOT of stuff when cruising.......so much it is borderline silly.

You think you got problems! My wife brings more baggage than a Diana Ross world tour. And that is just for a weekend away.

Martin.

Boat has been running well. For my style of boating this motor could not be better. It a total miser on gas. Sometimes I think this motor makes gas. LOL. I run on many lakes through out New York State. My boat is very light. I have actually removed one of the gas tanks to make room for a cooler. Usually just 1 or 2 others are with me plus a days worth of fishing gear. With the 70, 2 batteries, one 13 gallon tank, cooler and electric down riggers the transom is still a little lite when boating by myself. But it rides nice with the front cutting through the waves instead of bouncing through the waves while fishing. If I was going to do it again I think I would try the 10.5 Yamaha prop because I am running so lite. The 9 pitch when running by myself and less weight will rev to 6500 rpm. The 9 would definitly be the ticket if I loaded the boat up with more weight. I just bought a Solas 13 pitch which I am going to try out next year for comparison which should be close to the same as a Yamaha 10.5. The Yamaha props I am using are the Talon SDS props which you are supposed to run 2 sizes down on the pitch from what you would normally use.
