This hull is solid, seaworthy, and practical. In 2019, major sections of the hull core were replaced. Some older sections remain, as is typical for a boat this age. Floats dry and runs to 20+ knots, ~5000 RPM wide open. On a good weather day you can make Matia Island from Squalicum in about an hour.

Power 2017 Suzuki DF70A with approximately 200 hours, recently serviced (April 2025). Compression after running to temp: 200 / 195 / 190 / 180 — strong across all cylinders. New spark plugs, clean oil, prop shaft greased and tightened, fuel sample clean, zincs at 75% on the motor and 100% on the transom.

2017 Suzuki DF2.5 kicker. Serviced in April 2025.

I don't seem to be able to edit this listing.

So, here is a little more.

The hull work was to upgrade the existing balsa wood core to epoxy impregnated Coosa board. The paint and gel-coat were done sometime around 2017, still looks good but not perfect.

I'm selling this boat because my daughters are older and we got a bigger boat, more room for overnight trips. If I had a place to store it for free, I would think about hanging onto it until my youngest was old enough to have it for herself.

We've had tons of success crabbing from it, enjoying sunny days on Lake Whatcom and the Salish, and sure tried salmon fishing.

Fuel consumption is amazingly low and towing with something like the Tacoma shown above is very easy. Hauling to Olympia was easy and I'm guessing going to Diablo or Chelan or the area around Vantage would be fun too. A person could even boater-home with a larger truck and cab-over-camper.

I bought it in 2019. My understanding from the PO was they had been holding it since 2017 when they refurbed it after buying it from the original owner in Oregon (who they said was an English teacher). They had gotten sick after buying the new outboards, gel-coat, electronics, etc and never got to use it. I put the first hour on the outboard, and have done pre-season oil/plug/impeller changes annually. In 2022 the fuel lines were replaced.

This was my first motor boat and I have felt really lucky to own it. When I was first shopping someone told me "Buy your second boat first". It took me a couple seasons, but I realized what they meant and sure felt like I had found the sweet spot. Easy to trailer, easy to solo launch/retrieve, easy to store.
