Can I use twin fifties instead of a single 100 on a 19 Angler ?

Yes, definitely. Your options are the same as on the 22 Angler or 22 Cruiser, 75 to 100 or so hp. Single, twins, or a single and a kicker.

In fact, that is because the 19 Angler has, amazingly, the same power requirements to perform as the 22 hulls.

I don't think they expected this when they designed the shortened 19, but it was discovered in practice once some were built.

However, they also discovered that the shorter 19 foot hull porpoised up and down unless both trim tabs and a Permatrim (hydrofoil) were added to the boat.

It seems the 3-foot shortened hull, otherwise the same exact one on the 22's, needs those to make up for the shortening.

So you'll need a set of trim tabs on your 19 and Permatrims on your engines. (The longer Permatrim brand hydrofoils work better for this than shorter, wider brands.)

The motors will fit your motorwell, but mounting twin motors with Permatrims, a set of trim tabs, and a swim step (for safety considerations) may require some planning.

I'm sure there will be more comments.

Good Luck!
