15 degree downrigger gimbal mount..

Does anyone know where I can find a 15 degree gimbal downrigger mount? All the ones I find are for 30 degree rod holders. I figure the rod holders are in the right spot so why not use them. Not sure why I installed 15 degree flush mount rod holders, and they were expensive. I hate having to drill more holes in the boat.

FWIW -- my 22 came with flush rod holders and I investigated mounting my Scotty downriggers in them -- everyone I talked to said it was a bad idea. I took out the rod holders and installed conventional mounts.

I have to agree with Doryman.....will be converting to permenant mounts after the season.

That makes three of us then... I hated the flush mounts for my downriggers. They felt flimsy. I put a block of nice mahogany over the hole, then mounted the bases to them. Much better.

Thanks for the feedback, guess I will bag this idea. Think there is significant room aft of the flush mount pull holders to mount downriggers. I have never used downriggers but if I want to catch sea-run kings it’s a requirement here. Have no problem catching all the silvers, pinks, and chums I want with deep 6 divers, but it’s a crap shoot as to how far down they go so I have never been able to catch kings with them.
