12' C-Dory

Hi Folks:
I've been lurking for some time and thoroughly enjoy reading the C-Dory topics. Finally got around to officially joining the "The C-Brats" tonight. My name is Al Scholbrock and my wife's name is Gin, thus the tag "alandgin". We live on an 8,000 acre reservoir, Island Lake, 20 miles north of Duluth, MN and 25 miles west of Lake Superior. We are both retired educators - me from the Univ of Wisconsin-Superior, and my wife from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.

Just got back from visiting our son in Portland, OR and was surfing through craigslist and came across this item: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/233977782.html
Has this come across the forum yet? If so, my apologies for a rookie's eagerness! Regardless, sure is a cute little C-Dory!

We are still looking for the dreamboat - 12' angler or cruiser which we will use on our lake, Lake Superior, and others in northern Minn/Wisc. We have an excellent dealer in the area - Northwest Outlet. They have sold/serviced C-Dory's for 8-10 years. Great people.

Good to be on board!

Hi Al and Gin,
Welcome to the group. If I'm not mistaken someone posted something about this particular vessel in the not too distant past.
I first saw one of these open 12' C-Dorys a few years ago. (Maybe in 2000), when C-Dory was at the old location. The company hosted an open house and one of these 12' was a door prize. I don't recall who the lucky recipient was. I do know that there were other folks at that factory open house that are still members on this site. Does anyone else recall who the winner was?

You folks should look at the 14' or 16' C-Dory.

Welcome to the site Al and Gin.

My sister in - law lives on Bear Island at Island Lake. In no way venture out on Lake Superior in a 12-0 boat! My C-Dory 22-0 is as small a boat that I would feel safe in and I haved sailed and fished the lake for Fifty years. I have seen it go from dead calm to forty knots in an instant.

My C-Dory came from Northwest Outlet twenty two years ago. They must be one of the oldest dealers in the country. Great operation.

I can show you my C-Dory in the spring and take you for a ride if you would like. It is a Classic Fisherman, not as modern as the new ones, but tough as nails and will last forever. Are you ready for five months of snow and ice?
