#1000 - Woo hoo!

OK folks...even though I said I'd not cough up the details, here's how it going to happen. I'll be spinning the virtual roulette wheel around 5:00PM PST today.

Disclaimer - nerd territory ahead.

1. Create a temporary table containing one row for each user id that has posted since Tuesday, March 1.

CREATE TABLE cbrat_raffle AS SELECT DISTINCT poster_id
FROM phpbb_posts
WHERE post_time >1109635200

Note for non-nerds...1109635200 is the UNIX time stamp for Tue, 01 Mar 2005 00:00:00 GMT.

2. Run a SQL query using the MySQL random funtion to select one row from the above temporary table.

ORDER BY RAND( )
LIMIT 1

3. Take the user id generated by the above query, and manually check the user's profile to verify C-Dory information exists. If yes...we have a winner. If no, re-run step 2 until we do.

As of right now, we have 280 users who have posted since March 1. The number of eligible folks will be somewhat smaller, as not all of these members have C-Dory information in their Profile.

I think you should narrow down the field a bit by further limiting entry to folks with blue, twin honda equiped boats that where built prior to 2000

I could agree with that if it was limited to prior to 2003.... :lol: But clearly blue, twin hondas and 22' is where it's at....

Or even better - limit it to original 25 Cruise Ships. And since TyBoo would decline the prize should his name come up, that would make Steve the winner. And I know he would give me one of them jackets!

This is too cool, don't ya think? And it is especially nice of the CD boys to offer the jackets and hats for this grand occasion.

And they said we wouldn't last..............
 
yup, it is way to cool, there's been many "contests" in the pub but this is the first one to ever have a real prize. I realize that I have no hope at winning this thing, hell, they gave out 60 door prizes at the boat show dinner and there where only 62 folks there and nada....oh well, I gots the best prize....a nice boat.
 
Ken- You're already a winner!!! I'm declining and giving back to you the 2 year old frozen smelt prize from the guess the date of the 1000th member sign up gig, so you get to keep the prize! So now you're a winner and you can quit your whining! This will also uses up your good luck allotment for the next five years in entering contests, so you're back to square one. Have a great day! 72 is the user ID of the lucky grand prize winner. I just know one of you C-Brats has the skill to tell us all who user ID 72 is. So...you all get a second chance at a prize.
