C Dory Year
1995
Greetings fellow C-Brats. My name is Phil and I am a brand new member. I own a C-Dory but not one I could find on the list when I registered. My little gal is 10' and was made in the mid 90s. According to the folks at the factory only around a dozen were made. It's a heavy stinker and sits high in the water and is very stable. I am thinking of selling her and wanted to give true C-Dory lovers a shot at her before posting her on local boards. I get a lot of raised brows when I run her and know she is somewhat of a rare breed. I haven't set a price yet. The coast guard rates her at 440 lbs persons, motor, and gear with 7hp max. I have photos and will send them if anyone is interested. Happy motoring, Phil

If you send me the picture of your 10 footer I will try to get it posted for you. Good luck.

Now that will make a great dingy for a ranger tug or a certain 34fter ex dory owner I know.

In the year 2000 or 2001, the C-Dory company gave away one of those in a drawing at a factory open house, when the factory was at its' old location in Kent. (No, I didn't win it.... :( ).

Thanks for sharing. That is a pretty cool little boat. I bet it would scoot right along with a 7hp motor.

How much does this weigh? And how much would you be asking for it if you sold it?

I think that is going to be a hot item...imagine having a C-Dory dingy for the C-Dory mother ship?!?

I'm thinking I would like to get $500.00. Just the boat, electric motor, and a set of oars. Sorry it took so long to reply. It's taking me a while to navigate this forum format and I've had a few setbacks and probably some duplicates.

Any idea on the weight? It's tempting to use as a dinghy at our cabin, but I don't know if it's too heavy for a couple people to haul up on a beach easily.

Does that include the trailer too?

He said what it included, and the trailer was not in the list. But if it was, this would be one of the best deals I have seen in a long time. I just bought an Easyloader for my 14 foot aluminum boat and it was well over 500 dollars itself.

No guys, I'd like to keep the trailer. It is a 12-14' capacity and is way over sized for the dory. The original owner kept the boat docked on Ohop lake and owner number two bought the trailer in 02 so he could transport it to his home only to re-sell it three years later after never using it. I bought it for lake fishing but only used it once because I don't like subjecting a C-Dory to the sand and gravel of the boat launches.

I really don't know what it weighs, but the factory told me they beefed it up so it was heavier than most 10 footers. I would think that two people could drag it up a beach with no problem. The additional accessories would make the difference tho. The main reason I am thinking of letting it go is for that very reason. It makes me cringe to think of dragging a C-Dory on gravel. Just my respect for the name talking. I need a boat I can ding up some.

As much as I'd like to use this as a dinghy at the cabin, it just doesn't make sense for some of the same reasons you said. I want a boat that can be dragged onto the beach, flipped over, and stored for the winter without any major problems and while the C-Dory is probably up to it for a few seasons, I'd hate to see all the damage that would result.
