$10 burger

I need your help. I love my burgers and fries but I'm choking on the price tag. Tell me where around Seattle I can fill up for less than $7 or eight bucks. I like my Chinese buffets and Old Country and Golden Corral in Marysville, but I would like to add to the list. Thanks.

Oh my, I would love a Dick's Special with fries and a chocolate shake right now. It is probably a good thing that the nearest Dick's Drive Inn is 30 miles away. :? Robbi

Personally, I don't much care for Dick's Burgers. My wife loves them though. You can also try Fat Burger (only one I know of is in Issaquah). And if you REALLY want to pig out on a burger come out to Fall City and stop at the Riverside Tavern for a La Boomba. Great Burgers! They have both Half Pounders and Pounders... OOF!

Thanks Gary. I already know about Fatburger and have one of their hats. When my grandaughter Lizzie was about 3 I took her to fatburger on the sly. Her nutrition conscious parents would never have approved. A few days later I get a call from my daughter in law telling me "Lizzie is in the car seat and out of the clear blue sky says 'Let's go to Fatburger' " Tomorrow I'll take her to Riverside Tavern in Fall City for a La Boomba. Heck she's six years old now.

The Riverside has a window for take out food sales. So you should be able to order and then go across the street and sit on the riverbank to eat.

When I was working at Microsoft a bunch of us that rode hawgs would hop on the bikes and head to the Riverside for lunch on nice Fridays. Nothing like a 1/2 hour ride then a big lunch and then a 5 minute ride home to play hooky for the afternoon!

A grill on the back of the good ship Lizzie, some fresh hamburger, and a quiet anchorage. Toss the bun on there for a minute, melt some cheese, kick back to enjoy the scenery and a meal. If you feel ambitious, slice up a potato, put some Curt's Spice on it, put on some butter, wrap it in foil, and toss it on the grill, too.

Oh, I'm drooling.

Enjoy! Buddy just got back from Norway on vacation. Big Mac and fries for 2 = $50.00 US. And diesel 11.25 a gal.

I growl a bit, but not too loudly, when I visit the arches.

OK, Marty. Here you go. If you are driving out here but NOT eating at the Taproom, go to the Riverside Tavern in Fall City and order the La Boomba. Split it with Dotty, Lizzy and anybody else you care to invite - it is big enough to feed you all - on a good day they might also be serving Snoqualmie beer! However, the BEST burger (not the cheapest) in Snoqualmie Valley is at Scott's Dairy Freeze in North Bend - get an honest to God chocolate malt to go with it. This is where I went when I was a snot nosed kid of 12, and owner (and North Bend Mayor) Ken Hearing has restored this treasured landmark to its prior glory of the days of original owner Al Scott. Everything is stuck back in 1958 - except the prices - but that is a good thing! THE best burger and malt in America! A total PS - one day Patty and I stopped at the Dick's on 45th and we were in line behind...Bill Gates, honest!

Actually, the Harley Mecca in Fall City is the Last Frontier Tavern, right next door to the Riverside! Seriously! You could probably take your Harley to the Riverside without being ridiculed, but trust me, the Frontier is the favored destination!

Now we're gettin' somewhere. Thanks guys. I wonder if her mother would mind if I took Lizzie for a La Boomba on a Harley.

You guys have inspired me! We have never been to this part of Pugetropolis. So, Saturday Lori and I are planning to drive down 203 and stop for lunch at one of the recommended places, hopefully check out the brewery, and then end up in Issaquah for Peter's jazz gig at the Vino Bella Wine & Espresso Bar. Would welcome company from anyone wanting to join us for any or all of these stops!

Pat's not kidding about the Last Frontier Tavern being the go to place for the Harley riders. Since I've never stepped foot in the place I have no idea why. <SHRUG>

Hey neighbor.... Thanks for reminding me about Scott's Dairy Freeze in North Bend. I haven't been there in a while, love their shakes!

We also stop at Tweety's in North Bend for a good Sunday brunch on occasion too.

BTW: Forget about the burger and go to Stan's BBQ on Front Street or Sherm's BBQ up in Preston for a great Shredded Pork Sandwich, or Ribs. They are both great BBQ places IMHO.

This is getting better and better. I've been to Sherms in Preston. It was good, and I love ribs. We'll try Stans in Issaquah. We enjoyed the ribs at Cedar River Smoke House in Renton. (Had a coupon from an Entertainment Book).

Update- Visited Stans BBQ in Issaquah. Wonderful, especially liked the brisket. Heard someone praising the creamed corn, now there's a first. Great place and reasonably priced (if you order just one meat, by weight. You'll see what I mean when you see the menu.) By the way, there is a great fish and chips takeout on Marine View Way in Everett near the Hewitt St intersection. I think it's called Waterfront Fish Market. It rates 5 Dorys in my book, the best F & C around. The chips are as good as the fish, and the fish is outstanding.

I am going to get yelled at for this but I love Wendys Best dam quick burger out there and the frys are great. You can get the the double burger meal for under 8 bucks. As for small shops I like the place behind work, Hefty burger on evergreen way and everett mall way. They have a great mushroom swiss burger and a guacamole burger with bacon, i just have them hold the bacon. Who is the guy that started putting bacon on a burger?? I just hate that. all the other great places for a burger are in northern cal.

Good point Tom. The Jack in the Box Sirloinburger ( I just get lettuce, tomato and ketchup) is, in my book, probably the best fast food burger and one of the best dollar values. I'll try the Wendys, although a square burger is just wrong.
