09/30 - 10/02 - Sequim Gathering

I am just sort of assuming Sequim is on for the first weekend in October, which would be 9/30 and 10/1 - 10/2, no? Jon?

Hi all,

Are we going to Sequim this year in October?

Catman,

If we are going to Sequim, are you going to be cruise director'?

Larry, I didn't see your June post. Yes, as Pat says, Sequim is an annual gig headed by the northwest's finest: C-Loo and Big Jon. They're taking orders real soon so jump on board.

Can you work your magic one more time to get us our very own Customs agent at Sequim Bay SP to check us back in from the Second Annual Victoria Inner Harbour (NOT Harbor!) C-Dory Parade? If THIS doesn't convince you to come, I swear, nothing will! My favorite C-Dory pic!

That looks right Pat, mark your calendar.

Pat, I don't know if I can or not. Last time went pretty smooth except a couple of boats were about 15 minutes late getting back to the dock. I know 15 minutes doesn't seem like a lot of time, but it was to the custom officers since they always do the check in at Port Angeles and are on a tight schedule.

If there's enough interest from everyone, I'll ask my friend and see what happens.

OK, back up to the top. We have this following close on the heels of our return from Desolation Sound, but this gig is a definite, no? Looks to me like about 8 boats signed up, and I would just encourage anybody thinking about it to come! Especially if the weather cooperates and lets us go over to Victoria, but even if not, this is a great one!

Looks like we're going to drop off the Sequim list this year. Judy and I will be taking off on a two plus week driving trip from here across the upper 48 to Montana and then up into Canada. All in all it looks to be about 3000 miles and we'll return home on the 25th of September. Somehow with the price of fuel heading up as it is I think we better stay home once we get back. If not I'm not sure what I'll be able to buy Judy for Christmas after spending everything on fuel. Besides, I want to make sure and have a full tank for the boat show. This year I really do want to check out the new Tom Cat. With two motors instead of one I'll be glad we don't own one but I still want to look.

Tim

well doo doo, I guess we'll try to fill in for Tim & Judy. If the weather is going to be nice, we'll be there. Where's the preferred place to launch? Will there be a casino shuttle?

Hey BC, the weather is always nice in See Quim, well maybe a little foggy sometimes. The best place to launch is John Wayne Marina. They have long term parking and it is pretty secure in the parking area. Casino shuttle? It's only about a mile away, so we could get there pretty easy.

Hope you guys can make it.

Jon

the J.W. marina it is. We've been wanting to make this get together for the last few years but have always been knee deep in football, no F.ball this year. I aim to win enough at the casino to cover the gas bill and ....maybe....have enough left over for a new Tomcat :) look forward to see ya's

I would bring your salmon gear. The fish are running late this year and Sept. 30th, Friday, the Strait is still open(marked silvers only). October 1st, the Strait shuts down and the Sequim area is open from the end of the Spit to Port Williams Boat ramp(marked or unmarked). I think Friday will be the best bet. The inside fishery, starting Oct.1st has never produced anything for me. Or, one could run to area 9, Admiralty Inlet (Port Townsend area) and keep any silver you catch.

Alright Mike, It sounds like another Sequim Pardo!!!

Hi all,
As it turns out, we are scheduled to be in the Port Ludlow area the weekend of the Sequim gathering and though we won't have our boat along we can't resist the thought of stopping by for a bit to see you all. Besides, we're researching camper back options and have heard some of you have experience with these. We'd like to have a look.
Will there be a pot luck dinner? We'd be up for that. Roberta, we saw the picture of prawns in your Force 10 boiling pot, looks yummy!

Looks like we will make this one too...(now watch'em all scatter)... Been off on L& I for a shoulder problem, (I'm just fricken' fallin' part this year)... but Laurie & I will boat up on Saturday fromTacoma..Shoulder is always ok for boatin'...

Think we need have the potluck on Saturday earlier ..like 4:30 or so, since we always seem to end up in the dark at Sequim... :smiled ..
Lookin forward to seeing the C-Lou Bunch for sure!!!

I like the idea of starting the potluck earlier as it's nice to see all the food options that are set out on the table! The TyBoo crew will be bringing clam chowder again this year and maybe some of those cornbread muffins. Will be great to see you all again.

Could someone just call my boss and tell him to fire me so we could come too? (I've got no vacation cuz I'm new to the job) Forgive my whining -- or maybe give me some crackers n cheese to go with my whine? :xnaughty
