09/28 - 09/30 - Sequim Bay Gathering

Jon on C-Lou asked me if I could take over the Sequim Bay gathering this year. Since we live in Sequim, I agreed and ask for your patience as I tackle this for the first time.

First, the dates. How does Sept. 28-30 sound to everyone?

Second, activities. What can we plan that hasn't been done in the past? Dinner in Sequim? Cocktails at Sequim Bay Yacht Club? Sunset or Breakfast cruise on Discovery Bay? Or replay last years successful event schedule? Suggestions?

I am hopeful that I can enlist the crews of Sleepy-C and JC Lately to help me out. They are both CD-22 owners from Sequim.

As soon as we have a solid date set, we'll request a sign-up sheet.

Hope to see a big crowd there. :smiled

Cocktails at the Yacht club sounds great to me, but then all of your suggestions sound OK. Anything you and the others decide will be OK with me. The Sequim gathering is one I look forward to making.

I am just glad Jon asked such a capable person as you to host the event.

Right you are Pat. We should be able to round up enough cars to make a pilgrimage there. There may be some Brats who haven't tried the 2 lb. Apple Pancake!

The traditional date for the Sequim CBGT is the first full weekend in October, which is Friday the 5th through Sunday the 7th. We'll be on a cruise ship for a short three day cruise to Nanaimo, so cannot make it. Can't argue with the choice of dates, though, weather has been a real problem for the traditional date, maybe this will be better...have a great time!

Roger,
Deena and I will plan on being here and happy to help out with the event. That will be our 1st anniversary CBGT. We might even come by boat :wink The JC Lately crew is on a land bound voyage currently. I'll mention to them that Sequim Bay is heating up already so they get warned to sign up soon :smile

Thanks Bill...

I checked out the dock at Sequim Bay St. park today. We were on the bay giving up and down rides to female crabs. :sad

There are also 6 mooring balls about 100' off the dock.

Like we are expecting at Bellingham, there will probably be rafting.

Please sign up as soon as you can to facilitate planning.

I'd love to attend, but when I checked my calendar, I'm also on a 3 day cruise to Nanaimo! Probably the same one as Pat!!!

We'll be on a cruise ship for a short three day cruise to Nanaimo,...

What a small world! If I bump into Pat and Patty I'll be sure to drink a toast with them wishing you all a grand time at the gathering. :beer

Roger,

We'll do what we can to help (recognizing that, as of today, we have not been to a Gathering.)

I stopped by Sequim Bay State Park today to give the ranger a heads up regarding the C-Dory invasion plans. He gave me a heads up about the park's sewer line construction plans! During Sept. and beyond, the road down to the dock will be torn up by a sewer project connecting the park with the Sequim city system. The crew works Mon.-Thurs. and will hopefully leave a temporary patch on the road for the weekends. No guarantee of that at this point.

Worse case scenario, those arriving by car may have to hoof it for about 100 yards. Not a huge inconvenience.

I will look into reserving the Sequim Bay Yacht Club's clubroom for the Saturday Pot-Luck dinner. We have secured one 7 passenger van from a friend for the weekend for trips to town.

We will monitor the road situation and keep you all informed.

See you in September, Roger
