I'd like to come all the way by ICW but due to time restraints and health issues I'll probably trailer to Carolina Beach or Surf City. I have and Aunt and Uncle that live in Washington plus I need to check on my rental house in Wilmington and this is a wonderful time of year to be on the NC coast. Thanks to you and Larry for keeping this going and I'll keep a sharp eye out for the wildlife!!! :shock:
 
I will find some directions for you. The ramp is not at the Marina. We will be around to help you put your boat in and drive your truck around to the Marina. :D

Carol and I can help folks at the ramp and direct vehicles after as well. It's a fairly simple process. Plenty of parking at the marina. I'll post my cell number just prior to event so folks will have it. Can use our Expedition as a taxi for those who need it.

For those who haven't been to Whittaker Pointe, you are gonna love the amenities and laid-back, relaxed atmosphere. The town of Oriental is quaint, not tourist overrun, and there's a great coffee house just across the road from the public docks.
 
One heads-up...Last year, Whittaker Pointe did not accept credit cards, but did accept checks. I don't know if this policy has changed.

Marvin, I send them my list but, you can email or call them to reserve a slip. I would be happy to make a reservations for anyone. The wifi is working this time. I was down there about 3 weeks ago and it was working great. I know were as annoyed as I was about not getting a signal. LOL :lol: Just let me know if you want to me sign you up with the Dock Master Ashely.
 
Tracy I'll give em a call as time grows closer. I'll probably come in on the 24th. This is great I have a cousin in MHC that I'll be able to visit on the way I'm really looking forward to it. Good about the wifi I just got back from two weeks in the Tennessee Mountains and was without internet or cell phone and nearly went into withdrawal. I'll bring Larry a picture of a trout just as proof we actually have them in Florida. :oops:
 
When Carol and I were at Whittakers this last week, we found that the town of Oriental has the Wifi. You can access it with decent signal from the docks... less of a signal up at the clubhouse. The antenna is right acorss the bay... Oriental East is the connection name. Good news is, it's all over town (for those of us who like to sit on the front porch of The Bean in the early mornings).
 
Darn. Sorry Joan & I have to miss out on our home state gathering, but we travel almost every weekend to pay the bills. We just bought a 16 Cruiser which we plan to haul along behind our motor home and explor America's waterways. Have fun at the event y'all and hope to see you on the water out there somewhere.

Had such a great time up at Langford Bay, I am planning on coming down to this one. Look forward to seeing familiar and new faces.

Do we need to call and make reservations at the marina?
 
Yippee more brats ! Yes you do need to call them or I can let them know your coming . The number and name is a few post up . We are going down to look around for a good place to cruise to Saturday . Nothing too fast just a nice cruise. Can't wait to meet new friends and see the "old" ones. LOL Take care all, Tracy :lol:

We will let you know when we plan go down. Larry has some repair jobs to catch up on.Then we will be ready to go. Might be this weekend. Talk to you soon..

I emailed Sea Sport about our gathering and ask if we might get a few door prizes. Jeff that works there emailed me back right away and said sure we would love to send some items to you. Yesterday I got the box from him. I won't say what I got but...it's all good ! :wink: I promised to share photos with them of our little gathering as well.
